1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using VaultMail ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

VaultMail is developed and maintained by Vishnu Dutt, operating under AppRipe. References to "we," "us," or "our" refer to the developer.

2. Description of Service

VaultMail is a privacy-first email client application for iOS that provides the following functionality:

  • Connecting to your existing Gmail account via secure Google OAuth authentication
  • Fetching, reading, composing, and sending emails via IMAP and SMTP protocols
  • On-device AI features including smart replies, email categorization, thread summaries, and spam detection
  • Full-text and semantic search across your locally stored emails
  • App security via Face ID / Touch ID

Important: VaultMail is an email client — we provide the application software. We do not provide email hosting, email delivery, or email infrastructure. Your email service is provided by your email provider (e.g., Google/Gmail).

3. User Responsibilities

As a user of VaultMail, you agree to:

  • Maintain the security of your device, including keeping your iOS software up to date
  • Comply with your email provider's terms of service and acceptable use policies
  • Not use the App for any illegal purposes, including but not limited to sending spam, phishing emails, malware distribution, or harassment
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Not use the App to violate any applicable local, state, national, or international laws

4. Intellectual Property

VaultMail and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Vishnu Dutt / AppRipe and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

  • The App is licensed, not sold, to you under the standard Apple App Store license terms (Licensed Application End User License Agreement)
  • The VaultMail name, logo, and branding are property of the developer
  • Your email content remains your property — we make no claim to any of your data
  • Open source components used in the App are subject to their respective licenses

5. Disclaimers

VaultMail is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Email Delivery: We are not responsible for email delivery failures, delays, or errors. Email delivery is handled by your email provider (e.g., Gmail/Google).
  • AI Features: Smart replies, email categorization, thread summaries, and spam detection are AI-generated suggestions only. You should review and verify all AI-generated content before sending or acting on it.
  • Data Integrity: While we use SwiftData and SQLite for reliable local storage, we do not guarantee against data corruption or loss due to device failure, OS issues, or other factors beyond our control.
  • Availability: We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the App.
  • Compatibility: VaultMail requires iOS 17 or later. We cannot guarantee compatibility with all devices or future iOS versions.

6. Limitations of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Vishnu Dutt / AppRipe shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App
  • We shall not be liable for any data loss, including email data stored locally on your device
  • Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (the App is free, so this amount is zero)
  • We are not liable for any actions taken based on AI-generated suggestions

7. Account Termination

  • You can stop using VaultMail at any time by uninstalling the App from your device
  • Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all locally stored data, including emails, search indexes, and cached content
  • You can also disconnect your Gmail account from within the App's Settings before uninstalling
  • Since we store no data on our servers, there is no additional account deletion process required on our end

8. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If changes are made, the updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.

Your continued use of VaultMail after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
